Hanover is the capital of the State of Lower Saxony. 1150 had its first documentary mention under the name Hanovere, the city was capital of Spa Hanover, from 1814 capital of the Kingdom of Hanover and between 1866 and 1946 after its annexation by Prussia as a result of the German war capital of the province of Hanover. in 1875, it became the city with more than 100,000 inhabitants. Today, Hanover is among the 15 largest cities in Germany with 514. 137 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2012).
